Col first visited Straddie in the mid-seventies when his family invested in a holiday home on the island. In 2006, after 15 years in the tourism environment of Thredbo, he and his chef brother Dan and late father Cam, purchased Fishes Cafe in the North Gorge precinct. Col founded Discover Stradbroke in 2009 and since then he and his talented team have built a portfolio of over 80 rental properties under management and achieved outstanding sales results.
As Chair of the Straddie Chamber of Commerce, Col also sits on the recently formed Redland City Council Tourism Sub-Committee, and represents the community as a member of the NSI Economic Transition Strategy Implementation Committee which is tasked with transitioning the island away from a mining based to a tourism based economy.
Col’s island knowledge and business experience are the foundation stones of the agency. His businesses in both Thredbo and North Stradbroke Island have won many Regional and State Tourism Awards. Contact Col at Col@DiscoverStradbroke.com.au
