There is easy access with Brisbane Airport and the Gold Coast approximately a 45 minute drive the Toondah Harbour in Brisbane’s bayside suburb of Cleveland. From the harbour, vehicle ferries leave hourly as do the passenger ferries for walk on visitors.

You can hire a car or catch a taxi from the Gold Coast or Brisbane airports to Toondah Harbour, Cleveland where the ferries depart to North Stradbroke Island. Or book a shuttle bus from Brisbane Airport to the ferry terminal through Bay-Air Transfers – visit their website for times and fares or call 0422 691 971. You can also charter a mini bus from the Gold Coast airport to Cleveland with Anywhere, Anytime Charter.
The Gold Coast airport is 75 km from Cleveland and the Brisbane international and domestic airports are 30kms from vehicle and passengerferries at Toondah Harbour, Cleveland.
It takes about 45 minutes from Brisbane city to Cleveland, but allow about 20 minutes extra for traffic and to check into the vehicle ferry or park if you’re catching a passenger ferry.
If you are travelling to Straddie on a vehicle ferry please arrive 20 minutes prior to your ferry departing. Car ferries take 50 minutes.
Free public car parking is available at Toondah Harbour, Cleveland. Give yourself a littel extra time as you might have to walk a bit from your park to the ferry terminal when it is busy.
The Airtrain from Brisbane Airport can take you to Brisbane Central train station in approximately 20 minutes. Then catch a train to Cleveland, which will take about an hour.
Catch a bus or train from the Gold Coast to Brisbane Central. Then catch atrain to Cleveland, which will take approximately an hour.
Take the train from Central or Roma Street Station to Cleveland Station which takes around an hour. To view timetables visit the Queensland Rail website and click on the Train Journey Planner. Start at Central Station and end at Cleveland Station or call Translink on 131 230.
On arrival at Cleveland as you exit the train station, turn right and walk to the bus shelter and look for the Stradbroke Flyer courtesy bus or the Translink buson which you’ll need to buy a ticket.
Both buses will take you on a 5 minute trip to Toondah Harbour where you can catch a passenger ferry to Dunwich, North Stradbroke Island.
